Who We Are

100MenTylerTexas is not a charity nor are we any organization or association. We have no budget, no bank account, and no officers.

We are just a bunch of guys whose purpose is to support local charities.  Our schedule is to meet every three months and listen to three presentations from local charities.

Our goal is to have at least 100 attendees donate $100 each so that we reach our donation goal of $10,000 for the selected charity at our quarterly meetings.

What We Do

100MenTylerTexas is comprised of men who commit to attending four meetings a year. Those in attendance are asked to bring at least $100, either in cash or as a blank check.

If unable to attend, the person sends their check or cash through someone else who will be present at the upcoming quarterly meeting.

Three local charities are randomly selected to make a presentation to our group and are notified in advance to prepare a verbal presentation to last no longer than 5 minutes.

After the three verbal presentations are given, a secret ballot occurs and the winner receives the donated funds from all in attendance, either by check or in cash or a combination.

Any charity or non-profit being nominated must meet these eligibility criteria:

  • Active status as a registered 501(c)3 entity
  • Has been in existence for at least one year before being nominated
  • The applicants local offices are based in Smith County, Texas
  • Funds sought for a specific project will directly impact residents of Smith County, Texas
  • Able to give an oral presentation of 5 minutes or less, if selected as a nominee

The winning charity must return to a future meeting to give an update that describes how their donated funds have been utilized, based on their presentation.

If a charity is voted to receive funds from 100MenTylerTexas, then it may not be nominated again for three years.

The charity must be able to provide tax receipts for donations, to send the tax receipts to each donor who has donated, and agree not to disclose donors' information to others except for tax purposes.

If a charity was nominated but is not selected, it may be renominated after 12 months.

Join Us

Meetings

Meetings begin at 5:30 with a social half-hour networking session.

Starting at 6:00 p.m., each of the three nominated charities will give a verbal presentation of 5 minutes or less.  Our group then votes.

Each attendee will write the name of the winning charity upon their blank check, or your $100 cash donation will then be collected. 

Proxy voting is not allowed. You MUST be present.

If cash is donated, then you will not receive a tax receipt.
